One Year of Pally Vintage Closet: It's No Longer Just a Dream!
Exactly one year ago at this time, I pressed the "publish site" button to launch Pally Vintage Closet. It went online right here, where I am writing to you now. It was no longer just about reselling old designer clothes with my mom. We had become a business, with a VAT number, certified email, legal headquarters, and all the associated bureaucracy. I still don't understand the meaning of many of those things.
A year ago, between a chat on the sofa and yet another lovingly discovered bag, our passion became a real job. So, my mom Ilaria and I founded Pally Vintage Closet. It's a big little dream that blows out its first candle today.
From a family idea to Pally Vintage Closet: from dream to online reality
Since childhood, I dreamed of creating something of my own. A project that represented me, combining passion, creativity, and authenticity, but with my (very self-deprecating) tone of voice. What I never imagined was that I would do it with the craziest colleague of all: my mother.
For those who know us, they know we are like the Sun and the Moon, cat and dog. She is messy, chaotic; I am meticulous, I calculate everything and get anxious if things don't add up. I'd say if we put our two brains together, 50 different personalities and a few mental disorders emerge. But we have a blast!
We've always shared a love for fashion (and shopping), and that's where it all began. The goal has always been to give new life to iconic bags, clothes, and accessories. We carefully select them at more accessible prices. We think of those who, like us, believe in the value of quality, sustainability, and timeless style.
Our first year: between challenges, milestones, and a lot of caffeine
Starting an online store at (almost) no cost? Easy… or so we thought! In reality, we transformed into a multitasking team. It consists of photographers, copywriters, social media managers, shippers, customer care, and stylists. We do everything ourselves, sometimes on the same afternoon. Our dog, Ettore, used to walk all over the bags.
We learned everything on the fly, from lighting for photographing a black bag (an impossible mission). We studied captivating captions for Instagram. We moved on to our first clumsy videos on TikTok and live streams on IG with you. You made us laugh, make blunders, and feel less inadequate. We just wanted to be ourselves.
Looking ahead
The first year was just the beginning. We have many ideas, projects, and wishes for the future:

- Collaborations with professionals and creators
